Lenovo IdeaPad laptops and netbooks come pre-installed with the VeriFace face-recognition software, which scans the unique features of a user's face by webcam in order to authenticate Windows users. Some users like the added security VeriFace provides, which makes deception difficult.

Other users find VeriFace a hassle when improperly configured recognition settings or software glitches cause their computers to hang. If VeriFace becomes a problem, you can disable the program temporarily through the System Configuration applet. In other cases, you may have to boot into Windows Safe Mode to disable and remove VeriFace.

.bleep. the US support sucks. I officially hate Lenovo.Update:Now that I sandboxed the installer, I see what I was missing. Forgot to copy one file from the factory install. Anyhow, I can now install this on non-Lenovo laptops, lol.

Lenovo Veriface Install Windows 10

Since the Lenovo’s installer detects the laptop's manufacture, unless you manually install each component yourself, you cannot install this on another computer. However, thanks to Lenovo’s crappy support, I have extracted all these compenent myself and I have made a universal installer that consist of one registry file, 1 batch file (that also merges the registry file) and the software components.Major thanks to Lenovo for giving me a universal security program (although having to sandbox and reimage backups sucked). Wrote:Will try to install it, though I have Win 8. The lenovo support staff on chat said that my Y400 is 'not shipped' with this - and that this depends on a hardware module being in the system, and not just the software!!i find that slightly hard to believe, but is that true?I thought it would just access the webcam and do some processing for recognition.its not like a fingerprint sensor, right? This will work on Windows 8 too, lol.And plz.

Don't trust those idiots.% of the time they will BS you to avoid helping. After all, working is too hard. It is much easier to say it cannot be done than to help you out.
